A Weekend Getaway

Our children are now 2 & 4 (at the time 2 & 3) and we had yet to spend a night away from them. As I write this and reminisce mine & my husband’s weekend getaway, I wonder WHY in the world we never took a getaway before????

A lot of the moms I know are blessed to have family in the same town so babysitting, over nighters, or last minute problems aren’t problems for them usually. In our case, we haven’t ever lived close enough to family. Needless to say, dates were/are few (unless we find a cheap babysitter or swap with someone) and over-nighters are never. We finally got to the point where it was time!

And it was WORTH it! We visited south Florida and stayed 3 nights. I found very cheap tickets ($300 total for both plane tickets, round trip) and rental car and hotel for not much more all through Hotwire.

We enjoyed time on the beach, dinner (alone…yay!) and just one on one time with each other. We ate at this wonderful french restaurant simply called Paul.

My cute hunny!

Goat cheese sandwich & salad

Yummy crepe dessert

How long did it take you to go on a weekend getaway with your hunny (without the kids)???

  1. Yay for a getaway! 🙂 Those were AWESOME deals you got on flights. Seriously, how’d you do it? Best wishes for your week!

  2. How fun!! Yay for getting away! My hubby and I didn’t get our first getaway alone until December when our kids were about the same age (almost 5, 2.5, and almost 1). It was only one night an hour away but definitely worth it!

  3. I don’t know how I got such good deals, I guess after days of looking at prices I found them!
