Your big Why?

Today is a guest post written by my husband, I hope you enjoy it!

There are lots of reasons to do what “we” do. Why “we” look at life different. Why “we” tend to go against the norm. Why “we” question what is best for “us”. Rachel and I want to the absolute best for our family, like every parent. About 7 years ago, we were introduced to a different way to deliver health care in our household.
A few months after graduated with my doctorate one of the first patients I had was a 47 year-old female with a failing liver, her belly bulging like a pregnant woman but instead she was filled with excess fluid. She was the president of a corporation in Charlotte, NC. She had lost her house, spent over $1.5 million in health care bills, surgeries on organs that were normal and experimental medications and eventually went bankrupt searching for her cure.
I met her in a natural health food store where she was trying to find anything, something to make her feel better. We talked and I offered her the opportunity to come into our clinic. Three weeks after she started she told me she had started eating again. 3 months after starting care, her belly was no longer bulging and she was walking into the clinic smiling, talking to everyone. Her liver test were still out of “normal” range but you could tell she was healing. 8 months into care she came into the office, and asked me to speak with her privately. I obliged. She told me and the other doctor in my office that her liver tests were normal, she sobbed for it seemed like 10 minutes. She had found the cure for her disease, a walking miracle. All the medical tests that broke her, took her life and home could not find the cause.
She found her cure the day she walked into natural food store. That cure was the amazing healing power that God had put inside of her to heal her. It was the same power that created her. The first thing we did that first appointment was check her nervous system and make sure everything was functioning properly and it turned out the nerves to her liver were being choked off. We corrected them through chiropractic. Next we ask her to write a 7 day journal on what she ate every single time she did eat, I didn’t care if it was two sips of water. We changed her diet, she was ingesting huge amounts of toxins through her food so we put her on a mostly organic, artificial-free diet. No junk, bad fats, etc. Next we introduced exercise in the form of burst/surge training. She barely had the energy to do anything but by 8 months she was as strong as any woman I knew.

OK, OK Get to the point…..which is….If you allow your body a chance, you will rarely if ever have degenerative disease, you will be healthy and vibrant. Be pro-active not reactive with your health, remember your family is at stake .You will not rely on drugs to regulate function while damaging other organs in your body with side effects, which are REAL. By the way, this lady was on 27 medications.
Find your purpose and pursue it. Find out why you have chosen to read these blogs, you are searching for something, like my patient in Charlotte. Find out why you have a desire to live differently than the sick people around you. Find out what is so important that you choose to eat healthy, stay away from chemicals and let your kids eat dirt while the others use hand sanitizer.
Our WHY is our family, our health and our God.
I am so proud of Rachel for creating this blog, she works so hard on bringing you great ideas and insight on being a mother and wife. I love you babe.

  6. One day I’ll have to write the story of our journey to better health and the healing of our son, who at almost 13 is off asthma meds and thriving after being on them since infancy. It’s a sad story, but then again, it’s one that exemplifies exactly what your husband wrote about in this post — God has indeed provided in His creation (and our very bodies if we actually feed and nourish them) what we need to enjoy vibrant health. While we appreciate the benefits of emergency asthma meds, we wish so much we’d had the knowledge we do now to heal our son rather than limp along dependent on maintenance meds. Blessings!! ~Lisa
