Family Chef Night {and H2W}

Having a healthy family dynamic is very important! Last week, I gave you statistics of obesity in the United States… They are scary!

We have to first make changes to become healthy ourselves, then teach our children how to live a healthy life. A great way to teach your children about healthy choices is to have a Family Chef Night!

Have everyone pile in the car and go to the grocery store together! Us moms have to have everything planned out usually so print out a recipe if you have to or better yet… wing it! Have your kids help find the ingredients on the list. They will think it is very fun being involved if they are younger, if they are older, you can discuss which product is the best by reading the ingredients and teaching them why to do that.

Head home and make a yummy, healthy dinner together. Eat dinner then watch your favorite movie together.

  2. Hi Rachel, thank you for hosting! I shared a Frittata Muffin w/ Caramelized Onions, Kale & Golden Raisins recipe. These are so delicious, make wonderful leftovers, and are a great snack or quick meal on-the-go. Thanks again.

    My favorite family meal (it’s just me and my little love), little love would choose pasture roasted chicken with kale chips, I would choose grassfed pot roast with kale chips.

  8. I just tasted this Butternut Squash “Sweet Potato” Casserole with Pecan Crunch Topping, and it is SO much better than the candied yams I grew up with topped with corn-syrup-laden marshmallows. This one is subtlely sweet, and is both smooth and crunchy. Enjoy 🙂
