I love fall desserts, but the trouble with them is that many can be loaded with artificial ingredients and processed sugars. Here is tasty apple crisp recipe made with fresh produce, whole grain and natural sugars … completely guilt-free!

What You Need:

5 medium-large apples, peeled and thinly sliced
2-4 tablespoons coconut sugar
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/4 cup sucanat(ground sugar cane)
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup butter, softened (not margarine)

What You Do:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 F.
  2. Place apples in a 2-quart baking dish.
  3. Stir in coconut sugar
  4. In medium bowl combine oats, sucanat, flour and cinnamon.
  5. Cut in butter and stir until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  6. Sprinkle mixture over apples.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until fruit is tender and topping is golden.
Great with vanilla ice cream, topped with homemade whipped cream, or serve on it’s own.

What is your favorite apple dessert?
