Homeschool Mom Tag

I thought it would be fun to do a Homeschool Mom Tag especially since everyone is planning and thinking about next year! I am answering the 10 questions below.    Homeschool Mom Tag Questions: Do you have a set budget for your homeschool? 1. Were you homeschooled? 2. Did you know always know you'd homeschool your children? 3. What are your 3 favorite books in your homeschool library? 4. Are you the only "teacher"? Does your spouse help, outsource help, tutors, etc. 5. Where is … [Read more...]

Stupid Mistake + Where Have I Been???

Have you ever made a stupid mistake? Or is that even the word I'm looking for?!? Not like picking your kids up late from their practice or putting on the wrong shoes or putting salt in your coffee instead of sugar. Maybe the word I am thinking is irresponsible, foolish, "mom" brainless, the other kazillion of words that could be the right word. I almost lost my blog a while back and it was my OWN fault. I know I haven't even been writing on here in a LONG time but these are still … [Read more...]

Homeschool Student Planner {plus Free Printable}

With this being our first year full-time homeschooling, I knew I needed a plan in place. I had planned and selected our curriculum but was still trying to find a way to keep my kids accountable with their school work and responsibilities. I am not really one for the unschooling. In life there are things that must get done, even if you don't want to do it. But this is not a post about not agreeing with "unschooling".. I do like this post if you want to read more about it.  This post is … [Read more...]

A Few of my Favorite Things {August Edition}

Ok wait?!? It's August? Goodness gracious, oh my! Is 2016 flying by for anyone else? I mean at the beginning of next year my baby will be ONE!! I shared with you some of my favorite things one time last year, before I got terrible morning sickness which then lead to having that baby (at home)! And that's why I slowed way down on posting on this blog. So in less than two years, we added two more kiddos. We're now happily a family of SIX!! Anyhow, like I mentioned over a year ago, I love … [Read more...]

What’s in our Morning Basket? {Plus our read-alouds}

Going from part-time homeschooling to full-time homeschooling is going to be a transition for all of us. We haven't ever done a morning basket (or morning time, some might call it circle time) before, but looking forward to getting started this year.  The purpose of using a morning basket is to start your day off with truth, goodness and beauty. With the things that matter the most! Which are being together, reading and talking about Jesus, reading scripture, diving into rich literate … [Read more...]

Our Homeschool Curriculum for 2016-2017

Hey Everyone, I have missed you! I have been in a hiatus. Shortly after my 4th baby was born back in January, we began feeling a tug on our hearts toward full-time homeschooling. So that's where I've been... Praying. researching, Youtube watching, reading and learning all I could about homeschooling. Could I, can I, REALLY do it?  If you've read any of my homeschool posts, you know we take time to reevaluate each year. So this year we have made a decision to homeschool without … [Read more...]

The Birth Story of Baby #4 {Part One}

To begin this story I guess I'll have to take you back to the Spring of 2015. (if you want to skip all of the pre-story, scroll down to where it says Coby's Birth Story)  We were busy with life, work, kids' school, a 1 year old running around and our "husband and wife" time had been lacking. So I was trying to be more intentional to make time for that! ;)  We weren't sure about having any more kids but I certainly had caught the baby bug. I just count imagine that we were … [Read more...]

2015 Year in Review {Free Printable}

When it comes to Christmas traditions, one of my favorites is the annual Christmas letter. I know some people dread these, but I LOVE them!   I've done several different things, including a Madlib, top 10 things of the year, and more but my favorites these past few years are "Year in Review" letters.  Last year I created this one:  This year I followed the same type of template but added a few things.      I keep our letters in a special … [Read more...]
