Gravel, Grace and a Place I Can Celebrate

Written by Jenna, Contributing Writer There's this place. It's at an intersection. It's a little roadside church. White and plain, but perfectly placed in the middle of nowhere. It has a gravel parking lot. I don't normally notice gravel parking lots, I only know this because I pulled into it one day. Since that day, I seldom travel by it anymore. But coincidentally, just the other day I drove by that place. Immediately that sick feeling you get in your stomach just before you are about to face a … [Read more...]

Just ask the Lord

Ask and you shall receive! This a pretty simple but if you want something whether it's a deeper walk with the Lord, for a door to open, a break though for a situation or even something you desire... ask the Lord!  Write down what is that you want in your life or for others and be sure to be specific. It is like making an order. If you like your salad without croutons and dressing on the side you must say so. Need I say more?"So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will … [Read more...]

How to Make Every Day Your Best Day

Written by Brandy, Contributing WriterAs a busy stay at home/homeschooling mom, I know what it's like to jump out of bed and hit the ground running each day.  There often seems to be no end to the list of to-do's.  Between the needs of our husbands and children, seemingly insurmountable piles of laundry, stacks of dirty dishes, bathtubs in need of scrubbing, carpets that need to be vacuumed, and food that needs to be cooked, it's hard to think about trying to fit anything else in. Trust me, I … [Read more...]

One Year to Live

Guest Post written by Jenna“On the average day, we live caught up in ourselves. On the average day, we don’t consider God very much. On the average day, we forget that our life truly is a vapor.” - Francis Chan (Crazy Love) Think for a moment with me... What if you were given the knowledge that in 2012 your life would somehow end. How differently would your life look like from what you were doing last week or from a few months ago? What would be your new passions, priorities and goals be with … [Read more...]

The Lord is My Comforter

You never know why things happen. You can't sell your house, you lose your job, a family member is sick, a friend dies. It's so hard to deal with these kinds of situations. Only God knows the reasons! And I know only He knows but it is hard to understand the why, that why we desperately want to know."We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28As I am writing this I am losing our baby. We just found out on … [Read more...]

Hiking in the Desert

While my kids and I were in Arizona a couple of weeks ago we went on a hike less than a mile away from my parent's house. While walking, I was comparing our hike to life, especially experiencing our hike with my kids.  When you're in the desert, you have to pay attention to where you walk. There are rocks everywhere, you have to be careful not to trip or you could fall on a cactus and although I've never seen one, there are rattlesnakes as well as other desert animals or even thorny … [Read more...]
