My Miracle Story

I don’t believe in superstitions at all.

It’s a full moon so….
Walk on a crack, you’ll break your…
If you walk under a ladder than…
Friday the 13th is an unlucky day so…

Well, those and several others are just silly ideas people have come up with. The bible clearly states that only God is head over everything.

“Be careful that no one changes your mind and faith by much learning and big sounding ideas. Those things are what men dream up. They are always trying to make new religions. These leave out Christ. For Christ is not only God-like, He is God in human flesh. When you have Christ, you are complete. He is the head over all leaders and powers.” Colossians 2:8

I don’t have a superstition to tell you about but a miracle that happened yesterday, Friday the 13th when normally, according the the superstitions you’re supposed to have bad luck, however, the Lord is head over my life and is in charge of  life, death and miracles.

So, here’s what happened….

Our chihuahua Daphne woke me up to use the restroom outside at about 3am. I was walking down stairs and slipped on the 2nd or so step exclaimed, “Oooww” and even thought for a second, I said that too loud, it didn’t hurt that bad, at least that’s what I thought, a stubbed toe hurts worse.

My Husband said,  ”Are you okay?” And I replied to him asking him to let dogs out. The next thing I know I was at the bottom of the stairs. After I came to, I was confused and asked what had happened?

He proceeded to tell me that I flipped and rolled down the stairs a couple times and that my head landed on a soft wicker basket full of toys and dress up clothes. He ran down stairs in shock and tried to get me to respond. Apparently I was dazing off and not responding. He then groaned in fear and went quickly upstairs to get his phone to call 911.  Shortly after I woke up.

Still in shock and wondering why I was on the floor I got up with his help and walked to our couch. Then, I began to feel nauseous. I moved to the other couch so I could sit up, and the nausea went away, but then came slurred speech, although I knew what I was thinking, in my right mind. I then started feeling like I couldn’t breathe and catch my breathe and felt tingling in arms.

I laid down and began to feel better. In the midst of all of the Jake almost called 911. Now I am fine just, I  have bad rug burn on front of ankle, a bruise on knee and my bum is sore, I didn’t go to hospital. He did some tests like say this, do that and I passed them.

He says it’s a miracle nothing bad happened. It’s probably more shocking for him since he saw it happened and I have no memory except after slipping telling him to get the dogs then waking up and wondering what was happening.

God’s angels were definitely watching over us!

Have you ever experienced a miracle?

Here’s one miracle story of ours.

My father-in-law was watching our 4 young children (3,5,7,9) for an afternoon at our home one summer day. He’d watched our kids many, many times before, and our children were easy to watch, not mischievous or quick to misbehave.

When my dh and I came home mid-afternoon, we pulled in and noticed that someone was in the back of our other car, parked in the driveway. We opened the back door and saw our 3yo, crying, pouring sweat, and limp. It was very hot outside that day, over 90 at least. I scooped her up, praying, and walked straight to her tub upstairs and ran tepid water on her body, trying to get her clothes off and comfort her at the same time.

In the end, she was completely fine although somewhat scared of hot cars, and my FIL felt horrible. The kids had all been in and out during the day, and apparently, the 3yo just wanted to play in the car (which they had never wanted to do before). The inside door handle was too hot for her to open to get out. She had been crying and crying for help, we don’t know how long. I’m everlastingly grateful to my God for protecting her, for sending us home at just the right time, for helping us find her right away, for bringing her body temp down without any damage. This daughter is 11 now and such a sweet delight to us.

  3. Rachel, I am so thankful you are fine. The LORD is always with us and will never forsake us. I believe that it wasn’t your time to go to the LORD, and if it was, as a believer, you still would be VERY fine! “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. 22If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! 23I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; 24but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body.” Phil 1: 21-24 Praising God with you, dear friend :)

  4. So glad you are fine! Your guardian angels were taking good care of you:)

  5. Rachel! Just read this and am praising the Lord for His divine protection over you! So glad to hear you are well. :)

    Blessings! ~Lisa
