I used a small cardboard box with a cover that I bought at a craft store, drew on it and decorated it with magazine clippings that represent our relationship, and decoupaged it so it would stay nice. I put it on his night table, and occasionally I put a small gift or note in it to surprise him. I’ve been doing this for more than seven years, and he loves it!

I honestly didn’t find this too hard to manage until we had number 2. With two little ones demanding my attention and time, I became less and less available to my husband. For me, it is remembering to serve him and put myself second to his needs (Easier said than done!) I think a daily list of little things you can do to serve your spouse is a good first step. I try to fix my husband his favorite drink for him to have ready when he gets home from work. Thanks again for this wonderful post. – Angela
