Do you have any health related questions? About anything?

If so, you are in the RIGHT place!

This is another week of the “Ask Dr. Jakefeature, we took a break for a few months and we’re glad to be back! We have been loving all of the questions! You can read more about Dr. Jake and his qualifications or types of questions he answers here.

Robert asks:

Have you guys ever heard of Zija International? It is a Christian-based international company promoting the benefits of the Moringa plant … essential to healthy living nutrition! This plant was supposedly given to us by God and was present in the Garden of Eden. My wife and I have been taking this nutritional product for 6 months or so and have found it to be a “God Send”! My wife has lost 45 pounds and I have lost 15 pounds! We both have more energy and feel better than we have in years! Would love to have your opinion on Zija International and the Moringa plant!

Dr. Jake says:

I think it’s great. I have yet to hear anything negative. I don’t personally take it but I have no objection to my patients. Keep it up. Bless ya

Lianna asks:

Hi, there!!!! I found your website via Keeper of the Home and was THRILLED to find out that I can “Ask Dr. Jake”!!! 🙂 I have been fighting symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis for years now (I am currently 22) and am wondering if Dr. Jake could maybe suggest some natural ways of fighting this disease??? I SO dislike the methods and medications being recommended to me by the conventional doctors and rheumatologists. :/ Thank you BUNCHES for your wonderful website. One of my goals for 2013 is to switch to clean eating and to rid the daily lives of my little family of as many toxins as possible. Your website is helping me a LOT!!! 🙂 May God bless you ABUNDANTLY!!! – Lianna Psalms. 37:4

Dr. Jake says:

Lianna, Great question. My mentor had one if the worst cases of RA I have ever seen so this question is dear to my heart. Omega-3 fats, raw nuts and seeds, quality fish are the top things you can be doing. Grass-fed beef is a great source also. Watch out for sugar and no artificial sweeteners  All of the above decrease inflammation. As always, chiropractic care done by a maximized living doctor or pierce results doctor is priority número UNO!

Tonya asks:

Hi! I am so happy to find your site and be able to ask this question. It has been bugging me for quite some time.
I love eating healthy and have raised my kids (5, all under the age of 7) to have healthy taste buds. I lean toward a higher protein (mainly non-animal/non-soy) diet in an effort to keep my blood sugar levels normal. My question is: how important is that large “grain” section of the food pyramid to my children’s health? Do they really need that much? Will it adversely affect them if they lean more toward higher-protein foods and not so much the breads, cereals, etc?
Thank you for your time. May God bless your efforts to teach people about healthy eating. It is a very needed message in our society!

Dr. Jake says:

Best question of the week! Grains can be very unhealthy, even good quality sprouted grains. The food pyramid is way out of bounds when it comes to health. There are societies that eat no grains and are super healthy. I suggest only eating while sprouted grains 2-3x week if you are actually adding them, not removing them like most people need. If you are eating heavy amounts of protein, it needs to be quality, no antibiotics hormones or steroids. You are on the right track! Bless ya

Thanks for joining in this week, be sure to email us a question if you have one!
