12 Days of Christmas {Day 10: What’s in the Bible?}

Today is the 10th day of the 12 days of Christmas Review & Giveaway Week!

On the 10th day of Christmas, day2day joys gave to me…

An awesome giveaway from What’s in the Bible?, a new DVD series from VeggieTales® creator Phil Vischer designed to walk kids and families through the entire Bible.

I first heard about What’s in the Bible? when I was at the Allume conference a couple months ago where I got to meet some great blogger friends!

I got to hear Phil Vishcer in person, he’s the voice and creator of widely known VeggieTales. He shared his powerful testimony of how he overcame when God took away his dream, then gave him another one. I can relate in my own way as I’m sure you can too.

I knew I wouldn’t be disappointed by the Whats in the Bible? series because myself as well as my kids love veggietales DVDs. Although Whats in the Bible? is totally different, it utilizes animation as well as uses real looking puppets and the well know character Buck Denver it is just as great!

Features of the What’s in the Bible? DVDs:

  • A DVD series to walk kids and families through the entire Bible (total of 9 DVDs)
  • A collection of short videos and a curriculum great for homeschool or churches
  • Biblical based family-friendly material

Now for my review:

I was given the What’s in the Bible? Volume 1: In the Beginning DVD, and already had the Why do we call it Christmas? DVD that I got at Allume.

DVD 1    Why Do We Call It Christmas?
What I Liked:
  1. The DVDs get kids involved, help them to think critically and are fun
  2. They teach biblical truth
  3. Use songs and comedy to help with memorization & learning stories
  4. My kids love the DVDs
What I didn’t Like:
  1. The isn’t anything that I didn’t like, however, these DVDs do not replace one on one time teaching your children biblical principles.

Comments

  1. My favorite book is Proverbs.

  2. My favorite verse is John 14:6 I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Favorite books are Acts, Romans and Galatians.

I love that you mentioned that these dvd’s do not replace personal teaching one on one. I feel very saddened when parents leave biblical training and teaching to schools and to tools.

  3. Fav chapter 2Chron 20 🙂 Book – hmmm…maybe Psalms.

  4. I’m studying Proverbs 31 and praying about how to properly apply it to my own life. I want to be a holy wife for my husband.

  5. LOVE What’s in the Bible!! Can’t wait until my boys are old enough to watch them 🙂

  6. I love the book of Proverbs. So much wisdom packed in there.

  7. I’ve been wanting to get this for my girls!!!

  8. Isaiah

  9. I like the book of James.
