Faith.
It seems like such a simple thing to have when life it “great”, when you’re not going through a valley or trial.
And I can over and over again lay down my Issac as Abraham did in faith but then pick it back up and continue to think I can handle it on my own, or that I can somehow weasel my way through God’s plan, protecting myself from what I can only see as pain in my flesh.
Combating our flesh while trying to trust is so very hard, isn’t it?
But God’s word is clear when it says in Matthew 17:20, “For truly I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain move from here to there and it will move and nothing will be impossible for you.”

I’m having mustard seed faith right now and although it’s small I know my God is BIG and nothing is too small for Him. And even though my mustard seed faith is lacking at times, when it’s not I’ll going to shout at the mountain to move.
But I’m not gonna lie, sometimes I can’t tell the mountains to move, I let fear discourage me and sometimes I do not trust. When these times come, I get into the word, surround myself with friends and family that will encourage me and pray with me and listen to songs that lift me up.
Here are 6 songs to lift you up when you’re feeling defeated:
Lord, I Need You by Matt Maher. This is one of my favorites. I really need Him every hour and when fear creeps in I’m reminded He is my Hope and Stay.
You Are I Am is one of my favorite songs ever. Love that one! And thanks for listing the one by Sidewalk Prophet and the one by Tenth Avenue North. Loved both of those!
